Ask a question:

How do I install my Torpedo Remote on an offline computer?

Solution

The Torpedo Remote can be used in two modes:

  • The "Guest" mode

In this mode you can only remotely control your Torpedo device from your computer. No Internet connection is required. This mode is useful to control a device that does not belong to you. As you are not identified as the Torpedo's owner, you cannot buy (through
La Boutique) and/or transfer Two Notes cabinets to your device, but you can still transfer user cabinets/IRs (.tur, .wav, aiff).

Here are the instructions to follow:

    1. First, download the Torpedo Remote setup here and transfer it to the target computer and launch the setup process.

    2. Connect your device via USB and launch the Torpedo Remote.

    3. You should arrive on the Welcome Window. Click "Guest".

    4. Congratulations! You can now use your Torpedo Remote in Guest mode.

  • The "Logged" mode

    In this mode y
ou can not only remotely control your Torpedo device but also transfer your Two Notes cabinets. To do so, you need first to register your device on your Two Notes account. If you don't have an account, you will be asked to create it at the Remote's first launch. Creating a Two Notes account grants you access to all the firmware and software updates, and La Boutique.

The creation of the Two Notes account and the registering on your Torpedo device requires an internet connection. You will need to proceed in two steps: the first step on a computer connected to the Internet (online computer), the second on the computer where your want to use your Torpedo Remote (target computer).
  • On the online computer:
    1. First download the Torpedo Remote setup here and install it on this computer.

    2. Connect your device via USB and launch Torpedo Remote.

    3. You are going to arrive on the Welcome Window.
If you do not have a Two Notes account, press 'Sign Up'.
If you already have a Two Notes account, press
      'Sign In'.

    4. You wil be asked whether you want to register your device on your Two Notes account or not. Press Register to do so.

    5. Your Torpedo device is now registered on your account. Your license file and your Two Notes Cabinets files will be automatically downloaded on the computer. When this operation is finished, a message windows will inform you the registration has succeeded. A confirmation email with the license file enclosed must arrive on your email box.

    6. Save on a USB key or an external hard drive the Torpedo Remote setup file as well as the license file contained in the confirmation email.

    7. Go then to the following folder:
        PC 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Two Notes Audio Engineering\
        PC 64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Two Notes Audio Engineering\
        Mac OS: Library/Application Support/Two Notes Audio Engineering\
and copy also the "Cabinets" folder on the USB stick.

    8. Close Torpedo Remote and disconnect your Torpedo device.

  • On your target (offline) computer:
  1. Plug now your USB key on your target computer and launch the Torpedo Remote setup file.

  2. Paste the "Cabinets" folder from the USB key to the same place on your target computer:
    PC 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Two Notes Audio Engineering\
    PC 64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Two Notes Audio Engineering\

    Mac OS: Library/Application Support/Two Notes Audio Engineering/

  3. Connect your Torpedo device on this computer and launch the Torpedo Remote.

  4. On the Welcome window, click on the "Sign In" button, then on "Activate offline".

  5. Type in your personal info for validation, and browse your USB stick for the Torpedo license file.

  6. Congratulations, you can now use Torpedo Remote in Logged mode!
